Heidi started working with animals during her teens at a large animal clinic in Iowa. She completed her college education at Iowa State University where she earned a BS in Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary. An internship at Disney's Animal Kingdom further enriched her education in addition to studying animal behavior and communication in Tanzania, Africa. She has also gained valuable experience working with cats and dogs at a number of small animal clinics, in the laboratory setting and providing in home pet care services. Heidi joined the VSEC team as one of the dedicated emergency assistants where she values patient care, comfort and communication with their families. She resides in Fitchburg with her 4 dogs and 2 cats. Horseback riding, camping and visiting friends and family in Iowa are her favorite things to do.
